DE NIEUWE ARCHITECT

TU Delft, 2015
Studio: Honours programme - Platform DNA

Publication in B-nieuws.

De Nieuwe Architect is an essay written within the context of the TU Delft Honours Programme, developed as a reflection following an advanced course and published in a student architectural journal.

The text addresses the changing role of the architect in contemporary practice and education. Through theoretical reflection and critical analysis, it brings together questions of authorship, responsibility, and the position of architecture within broader social, political, and economic systems.

The work examines how architectural education shapes the understanding of professional identity, and how the figure of the architect is shifting from a sole designer of form towards a more collaborative and contextually embedded role within complex spatial and institutional processes.

The outcome takes the form of a published essay in a student architectural journal, B-Nieuws, contributing to an academic discourse on architectural education and the evolving role of the architect.
