RAVENNA WESTERHOUT
 

Ravenna Westerhout is a Dutch-Hungarian architect, researcher, and curator whose interdisciplinary practice uses architecture, art, and culture as tools to investigate urgent societal challenges. Her work examines the spatial dimensions of war, displacement, collective memory, identity, feminism, decolonisation, and social justice.

 

Through research-driven, collaborative, and site-responsive projects, she seeks to foster social change by creating new connections between people, places, and the stories that shape them. Working across exhibitions, publications, films, public programmes, and spatial interventions, she combines architectural thinking with narrative methods to foreground overlooked histories and perspectives, while exploring alternative ways of understanding and shaping the built environment.

Ravenna Westerhout (1994) graduated with honours from TU Delft in 2018 and pursued postgraduate studies at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in 2024, where she participated in DAAS – Decolonizing Architecture Advanced Studies, and at the Berlage Center for Advanced Studies in Architecture and Urban Design in Delft in 2026. These experiences continue to shape an interdisciplinary practice grounded in both theory and doing.
